Pagemaker font missing

Hi

We got a customer pagemaker file (150 pages).. when we generated pdf / eps / ps from pagemaker one particular font/test got jumped...

Earlier we solved the problem by using windows 98 pagemaker to generate pdf which results perfect pdf without jumping fonts...

but nowadays thats outdated (maintaining windows 98 pagemaker) .. can anyone help me how to sort this out without using windows 98...

Options tried....

1. changed the printer (linotronic /scitex etc.,)
2. Export to pdf..
3. export to eps

all results same.. (font jumped)

any expert advise pls...

I am using Windows XP and PageMaker 6.5 (SP3) never faced problem with fonts.

what version of PageMaker and what operating system was it created on please?
What application & version and operating system are you opening this file on please?
Are you exporting directly from PageMaker or are you printing a PostScript file and using Adobe Distiller (version number) or a third party application?

What font? I remember (vaguely) that there was one or two fonts that needed to be uploaded to RIP, (or available in Distiller). Can't remember the fonts though. Don't have any PageMaker compatible system anymore. Usually its a licence issue. If not there are software like TransType (Fontlab Typographic Tools - font editors and converters - TransType Pro 3.0 for Mac and Windows) that let you convert from Type 1 to TrueType or OpenType, which may solve (bypass) your issue.

Let everybody try the pagemaker file with fonts and try to generate pdf without font missing as similar as image file attached..

from pagemaker generating pdf directly / print eps/ps all generated result is font missing... distller 6.0 tried with third party application also font missing..

Hi Kala

Couldn't get your attachment to download to take a look.

I haven't used PageMaker in a long time, but I remember one workaround for when it messed up fonts was to export the Postscript from PageMaker with NO fonts included, then go into Acrobat Distiller and add a watched fonts folder with the fonts for that job and then distill. PageMaker will include a reference to the font in the Postscript, but Distiller actually does the font linking and embedding.

still awaiting any experts to sort out the issue??

heard from some one changing printer and ppd will sort out the issue.. but they couldnt know which printer and which ppd..

we tried linotonic, scitex, generic, adobe still same status..
