PDF Library

We need to process the PDF file for our printer application, Does any body knows any PDF processing libraries, that can serve the following purposes.

1. COLOR SEPARATION ( CMYM and SPOT COLOR)
2. PROCESSING PDF META DATA

I believe the Adobe PDF Library will support all of these. But we feel it is too expensive for our use. Please suggest if any other Library that can be used for our requirements.
