Hi,
We currently use a vendor for offset label printing, but intend to do inhouse short run digital label printing. We print numerous labels, but some labels do not follow a regular rectangular shape. There are a lot of imposition software tools out there that handle rectangular shapes, but I am having trouble finding ones that handle irregular shapes. If I use the current rectangular tools, there will be a lot of sheet wastage. I am requiring a tool that will provide a step and repeat pdf file that I can then print. This will request the standard inputs of the sheet size etc, the label file (pdf form), and then it will step and repeat/populate the same label across the entire sheet depending on the input parameters, creating a pdf file which I can then RIP and print. I have attached a sample of the label shape and the arrangement in 1sqm, this sample shows the die cut lines and in between would be the bleed. I have also attached a sample of one of our labels, we have a lot of labels that use the same shapes. If I need to print for a different plant (with the same shape), I will then follow the same process as above, but it will populate the different label. Adobe Acrobat plug in possibly as I would work with PDFs, Coreldraw or Illustrator.
I hope you understand my request. Possibly there is already affordable software out there, if that is the case, please let me know and I will be grateful.
