We are having a problem with our machine Suprasetter a52/a47
error codes that we get. Error 7951
Does anyone know what could be causing the problem
Thanks

hello, this error is generally caused by the drum driver, if your machine model is between 2006 and 2008, the drum driver is hidden on the backplane. If it is a 2008 model and above, it has an extra drum driver and has a braking resistor. It is most likely the drum braking resistor.

Of course, when the error occurs is important.

If the image occurs after writing is finished, the error is most likely caused by the brake resistor.

if the error occurs during boot it may be caused by ACFB or ACDB-A-DC cards

If the error occurs at different times and in different locations, it may be caused by the encoder located behind the drum motor.

at best it could be caused by the drum belt

If an error occurs during plate loading, vct channels should be cleaned

We will try it

Hello Samet,
I was recently experiencing errors 6707 and 5529 on my Heidelberg Suprasetter A106. I ordered a NEW Schneider AC Servo Drive and Attempted to install it myself yesterday. On switching the machine on after installation, the errors 6707 and 5529 did not recurr but instead, I now have error 7951 . I think I may have caused this problem during installation of the servo drive. I accidentally connected the 2 green data cables in the wrong positions (not realising there were 3 ports where there are 2 cables). Could this have caused damage to the 2 cards you mentioned in your post above? "if the error occurs during boot it may be caused by ACFB or ACDB-A-DC cards"

If this is the case and I have inadvertently damaged the board/s, would a board/s replacement fix this issue with the machine?
Please advise - I am desperate as my machine is now down permanently. Previously with the 6707 and 5529 errors, the machine would occasionally boot up and we could use the machine - as long as we left it switched on all day.

Please HELP! Any advice would be most welcomed.

Kind Regards

Shawn - South Africa

Hello Maverick,

I hope you have already solved the problem, but I will still write in case it helps.

If your drive is Schneider, that means you are using the ACFB card. I also hope you ordered the drive directly from Heidelberg.

Error 7951 occurs when the system detects a position deviation between the motor encoder and the drive encoder (drum encoder). Please make sure that the braking resistor is connected correctly to the new drive. It should be 27 ohms.

I do not think the green data cables could have damaged the ACFB card, so that possibility is unlikely.

What error number is shown directly on the drive itself? This is important. Also, at which stage does the 7951 error appear?

I have seen a situation in some GUI software versions where, if the VCT and NIP roller pistons remain in the down position, instead of giving a safety error the system reports 7951, because it detects an obstruction preventing the drum from rotating. In this situation the machine may remain stuck in an error loop even though there is actually no hardware fault.

After three days of painful troubleshooting I discovered that the solution was simply to hold the air inlet valve pressed until the machine finishes starting up. Once the machine completed the startup sequence, the problem disappeared. I recommend checking this as well.

The 7951 error can have multiple causes, so if you still cannot resolve it, I can help you investigate further.
