Hi,
Printing quality and gloss of Docucolor 5000 is Suplendid but machine is beyond our offordability. Please guide that how can we achieve the same quality of print and toner's gloss on 300 gms card from a smaller ( cheaper) model of xerox. Speed is not an issue.
Regards,
Nasir

Try seeing a demo on the Docucolor 242,252,260 or 700

These all have the same quality as the 5000 except they don't use fuser which gives the 5000 it's gloss look.

They do have a gloss mode on the 242,252,260 which will come closest, but it won't be as shiny if that is what you are looking for.

The toner is the same as 7/8000 and I think also 6060/2045 etc... however the imaging unit is from the 250.

I think you'd be best going for something like a 250 for the image quality and then gloss laminating it if you really need the gloss!

if you like the fuser oil and need something smaller than the DocuColor 5000AP, you probably can find a cheap used DocuColor 12. But it can only do up to 250gsm.

Which Docucolor uses fuser oil other than 5000 and 12?

Which Docucolor uses fuser oil other than 5000 and 12?

Hi,
I want to know that which docucolor uses fuser oil other than DC5000 and DC12? Can we apply fuser oil after printing as an after treatment? Do DC 240, 250, 2045 or 2060 use fuser oil for gloss?

Nasir

Xerox machines that use fuser oil : DocuColor 2045, 2060, 5252, 6060, 5000, 7000, 8000

DocuColor 240/250/242/252/260 don't use fuser oil. You still can apply UV coating or lamination if you want.

Thanks dear! you solved all the problem. I am quite clear now. Just one more question, please. Do all the models using Fuser oil, do good and speedy printing on 300 gms?
thanks again

I have a 2060 which is rated at 22.5 A4s per minute at the heaviest stock and half that for A3 so it is not too bad (and 60 ppm up to 135 gsm). It's supposed to do only 280 gsm but we do put 300 gsm through and it seems to be OK with that. You can get a 2045 or 2060 for little money if you look around.

6060, 5000, 7000 and 8000 support 300gsm.

2045, 2060, 5252 up to 280gsm

speedy printing? I guess you are referring to rated speed on 300gsm, only the DocuColor AP versions of the 5000, 7000 and 8000 can do it. they don't slow down up to 300gsm.
