Hello every one, always impressed with the knowledge this community has.

We have recently upgraded to a Xerox c1000i

How are people finding the colours on there c800 1000 1000 i ?

i see to get quite a lot of patchiness over solid colours,

and there doesnt seem to be much vibrancy to the prints, ( if i take the same file and print on a xerox 6550 the colour is better and more vibrant than 1000i

i have calibrated to stock is there something i am doing wrong (open ended question i realise) or something i should look at first ?

Artwork is fine, colour is a pantone, and looks nothing like what it should do when output ( i need to remove magenta out of the curve by 5-7% to get it anywhere near,

and i cannot over come the patchiness to the solids at all is this normal ? i would have expected it to produce at least as good as out 6550 ?

Many thanks for any help you can give

Sound like you need to profile to the press. It is more than calibration. You should have Fiery Profiler Suite to do that. Your Specialist SHOULD have gone over that with you on the install. It takes some time but is well worth it.

The solids should be fixed with the FWA and a Bias adjustment based on the stock. That will be added into your paper catalog and paired with that paper.

Paper Profiling will help you a lot, also try with the different screen modes (200 dot, 300 dot, etc). Also play around with GraCol and Swop to see color differences.
