Hi,

I'm about to do a Color Management Presentation for my company. Does anyone know a good site that I can get information and slides?

Many thanks

On colour then huevaluechroma.com is great, but maybe too deep. (though the interactive parts to understand additive light on an LCD are great for all) If you have an Xrite product there used to be some great presentations on colour management there. Also there is Jan Peter Homanns book, and website Jan-Peter Homann » Welcome

Andrew, if you are a member of Kodak eCentral, there are some good white papers and presentations available for members.

This old PDF from GMB is good:

Check out the Xrite website: X-Rite: Get exactly the color you need, every time, anywhere in the world.

Additionally, a couple of good Xrite i1 PDF guides can also be found here:

http://sysdoc.doors.ch/APPLE/i1_Proof-print_r18.pdf
http://sysdoc.doors.ch/APPLE/i1_Soft-proofing_rev23c.pdf

Also have a look at the Prinect Expert Guides in the downloads at Heidelberg - search using the keyword "color":

Heidelberg - Downloads & Image Library

That should get you most of the way there!

Application specific information or a general overview that can be modified to reflect your companies needs?

This is basically for our printers to make them aware of color management judgment and the to use of spectrophotometer in their work.

Unfortunately your situation is the toughest as management may have some specific questions. I suggest building your presentation for support data available from your companies CM, pre-press and press vendors. Unless you're not using any right now then a basic overview of the linear nature of the press and then any good basic book on color management is a decent reference.

How long until the presentation?

Still to be decided!

Color Management Presentation

As posted by M.P. Walinga follow the link titled "Heidelberg - Prinect Color Toolbox" and note the list of Expert Guides on the right hand side. Even though they are "User's Guides" they are very generic and neutral with the information that they present. Very good source of free information for anybody interested in Color Management.

It might be helpful for their understanding if you start by reviewing how they manage color now so that they have a context to understand what will be different. It will also give you some credibility if you can show that you understand how they are currently working and where their issues are. It might also help them understand the value to them for changing how they are currently working because if there is no value for them in changing then they will not learn from your presentation.
It's also a good idea to follow the presenter's maxim: "Tell them what you're going to tell them. Tell them. Tell them what you've told them."

best, gordo
