Our copies from the glass are way off, I did the calibration routine in the tools section but it prints only one sheet, it calibrates, but the copies are still off. Is there a way to use the ES-1000 to calibrate copies from the glass or ??

which RIP are you using?

The problem is with making copies off the glass and should have nothing to do with the rip, we have the external Fiery x700i I believe but we need to calibrate the copier, not the rip.

From the integrated efi, you can choose to calibrate the scanner to read the colors right.
If i remember right its - server - calibrate - choose colorcal - print instructions for scanner calibration etc.

I think that might or might not help.

Kunnajar hit it on the mark. You should be calibrating from your bundled EFI tools. It prints out some test pages and explains exactly what to do. Did your specialist not show you how to do this when you were trained on the machine?

Also, if you want to make life easier, I'd recommend calibrating from Hammermill 100% bright uncoated stock. It's not as good as profiling each paper stock, but the paper itself contains very little yellow and won't skew your calibration results as badly as some stocks.

Don't quote me on this, but I think you can also grab a Spectrophotometer for calibration. I know the option is available for the External Fiery - just not too sure about the bundled version.

Calibrating with the Fiery tools is only going to calibrate jobs that you print through the fiery.

Calibrating the copier, using the copiers tools mode should calibrate the printer for jobs that are copied 'off the glass'
If the copiers calibration doesn't work, then there are things that the xerox engineers can do to improve the copier performance. No amount of Fiery calibration will affect the copier quality.

Calibrate the Printer/Copier.

At the printer/copier I/O terminal, perform the “Scanner Calibration” and “Color Cal” Calibration (this will correctly calibrate the scanner for the future color balance procedure). TO USE COLORCAL FROM THE COPIER TOUCH PANEL

1. Press the All Services button to display the main screen, and then press Web Applications on the screen.
2. Press Calibrate.
3. The password is not set on the Fiery Color Server, to enter just press Login.
4. Select the calibration set by selecting the “Plain” media, and press Continue.
5. For the Tray, select Auto Select. The Page Size is automatically set to LTR/A4.
6. To print the scanner measurement page and calibrate the scanner before calibrating the Fiery Color Server, select Print scanner calibration page. Fiery recommends that you always calibrate the scanner before calibrating the Fiery Color Server.
7. Press Print.
8. Retrieve the measurement page (and instructions page, if you selected it) from the copier.
9. Place the KODAK Gray Scale and KODAK Color Control Patches strip face down on scanner according to the instructions printed on the Scanner Calibration Page.
10. Press the All Services button on the upper right of the panel screen.
• press the Network Scanning button
11. Press the General Settings tab and select the ColorCal template.
• select 1 Sided for 2 Sided Originals
12. Press the Image Quality tab
• press Color Space
• select Device Color Space
• press Save
13. Press Layout Adjustment tab
• press Original Orientation
• select Sideways Images
• press Save
14. Press the Large Green Start button on the keypad to begin scanning.
15. When scanning is complete (indicated by a beep), press the All Services button on the upper right of the panel screen.
• press the Web Applications button to proceed with measurements
16. Press Print to print the ColorCal measurement page
17. Place the KODAK Gray Scale strip face down on scanner according to the instructions printed on the ColorCal Measurement Page.
18. Repeat steps 2 through 7 to complete ColorCal calibration.
19. Skip the comparison page. When you are finished with the calibration, press Apply, and press Yes to confirm. The calibration measurements are saved.

The Copier Scanner and Copier have now been calibrated.
I now suggest re-calibrating the Fiery using the ES-1000 so your digital output is more accurate (the calibration from the scanner is poor in comparison). Be sure to click RESTORE CALIBRATION before calibrating when using Command Workstation Calibration Process.

Have an engineer do a max setup in diagnostics. white reference and ccd cal.
Try cal in tools again.

So you are saying that it is necessary to use Colorcal and then also to do the 34 patch calibration? The way our Xerox tech explained it the CW 34 patch calibration replaced the need for using the printers Colorcal calibration, which seemed to give us washed out colors.
