XEROX 800 issues

Anybody out there with the Xerox 800. We just had the install about 2 weeks ago. I am the sole operator of the 800. It is attached to an EFI Fiery RIP. In my honest opinion I think the Xerox 800 does an unacceptable job of printing type. I have had technicians in for 2 days and they claim all their diagnostics came back ok and within specs. All colored type seems slightly misregistered. You can see a slight halo of color towards the edge of the type. I ran the same files on the 5000AP that we have and none of this occurs. I had a file with 36pt KO type on a dark purple background and you could see the purple leaking into the KO type. Has anybody experienced these issues. My owner is freaking out, rightly so.

Try contacting your sales person. Sometimes they can get results you can't get otherwise. Keep samples to show. Document service calls. And good luck.

I know it's not what you want to hear, but....

We got rid of our Xerox 1000 after 45 days of problems and went back to the Xerox 5000 platform. They are rock solid comparatively... Didn't see that particular problem, but ours went back due to banding in the halftones. (40-60% coverage of each color)

Xerox 800 issues....

I wonder if changing the interpolation method setting would help?
I can tell you I design specifically for this press in this way. Run a test with various blocks of color, using knockout text and see what you come up with. K.O. areas over some 4/C builds should be avoided....

I tried turning Auto Trapping on and off, tried Text/Graphic Enhancement on and off, tried Text Quality to Normal or Best. Tried different output profiles. Really very frustrating considering we got rid of our other 5000AP to put this monster in here and the 5000AP runs off a better quality product in my opinion. Again, thanks for the feedback.
