Pantone Color Tables

Greetings,

We use the Esko front end to drive our HP 6600. This front end uses the Pantone Plus digital file to convert PMS colors to various percentages of CMYKOVG. When checking the Lab values for colors in our file against the Pantone Plus digital file that our ink company uses there are slight differences.

It would seem to me that if both Esko and our ink company had digital files supplied from Pantone / x rite for the Pantone Plus Library the numbers would be identical.

Hummmm.

I would put my money on Esko having the correct licensed values, with the ink company being wrong (baring some sort of software bug).

Bill, if you list some random Pantone Plus colours that are in doubt, I’ll come back to you with values from other software we’ll then see where the dust settles.

PMS 102 L* 90.33 a* -5.11 b* 106.02

All numbers are under D50/2.
