Man, you are losing so much money you might be able to just FLY someone familiar with this machine to YOUR location to help you with it for a few days, figure out what is wrong, and still save money in the long run. Take a step back from the whole scenario! I know the exact feeling you are having, it is NOT fun when you need to be making money, and are losing valuable time.I've not had a chance to try, been too busy trying to catch up.
I'd sell this machine at a loss at the moment but will wait to see what the specialist says about it all.
I could get an even margin & 1 out of 4 prints was good enough to send IMO on the 550...using manual alignment... I've used like 40 sheets on one poster today chasing alignment.
I was told I could load up the pdfs, print them all in 1 go & they would all be printed in the same position. It really doesn't seem to be the case & I've had this a few weeks now.
I'll update after the specialists ben but at the moment I think the machine is pants.
All pretty tight then, as expected there is nothing wrong with your machine.I printed 20 A3 sheets from the same tray that had just had SIQA done.
Though most edges are consistently 10mm, 2 of the edges are between 9.2mm & 10.2mm so there is a difference in where it's placing it.
This was at 100% without scaling.
Well, being closer to the edge by 1mm on a 2mm margin is terrible IMO & makes the upgrade pointless to me.All pretty tight then, as expected there is nothing wrong with your machine.
I don't think your being fed a load of bs at all. These machines have tolerances that they are expected to hold. generally somewhere around 1mm. These aren't offset machines or wide format machines that hold perfect registration. BUT, they do a very good job at it for each image/sheet being "variable". I know I can throw a 2 inch stack of 12pt on the cutter and after I cut I can see the crop marks chopped in half. On most of the sheets. some are slightly different. BUT, I also will need to measure to make sure I dont need to adjust the cutter a couple hundredths or so of a inch to split the crop marks.I do understand that chopping down from a larger size is an option...but I really could have done that on the 550 that the v180 replaced. I feel like I've been fed a load of bs, to be honest as it was supposed to be the case that I could print everything in 1 go in a few minutes & get my life back from the misprints & the misaligned prints that was taking up so much time.
Even the xerox video about the v180 say it "eliminates the need for "time-consuming & frustrating manual guesswork involved in alignment"...well that's far from my experience.
^^^ This x100You could have got an epson wide format with perfect registration, perfect color and much better quality for 5k usd.
