Hi

I've been in prepress for over 20 years. I've been a heidelberg/Signastation guy for a long time until the company i have worked for closed its doors in 2008. Two years later, i was hired for a nexus / dynastrip operator. I've taught myself dynastrip but i am struggling with Nexus. Is there anybody in the New York area who can come in and train me on some of the plug ins nexus has to offer?
My company is willing to pay you.

Sincerely Kevin

Hello,

Wow... a lot of guys on here with some major experience. Kudos! Own a small printing company, located in Inglewood, CA producing two color via an ABDICK 9810 and digital printing via a Xerox 250 and a pair of Canon ImageRunner 7095.

Mostly short run books and booklets. Started back in 1994 when I ran a couple of Multi's and saw the installation of our ABDICK 9810 and started running it. Then came baby CTP via a Xante PlateMaker 3. Then digital printing via a... drum roll... Doc12. Yup nothing like a Doc12 back in the days. Then came the b/w Canons and the Xerox 250.

My experience in the design field includes knowing all design programs like the back of my hand... haha CorelDraw was my best fried 14 years ago. Anyone remember Arts & Letters? Haha good stuff. Also remember stripping and doing step and repeats. How things have changed.

I am hard headed when it comes to printing. Never said I can't do a project until I ran that paper 100s of times through the machine and was satisfied that it won't run even if God smiled on me. Never gave up on a file that won't print, there is always 50 different combinations to make a file print and yes that file will print! Haha I love challenges!

Bring it on is what I tell my clients. Never a dull day in this field. Love it.

Looking forward to learn more on this site and help as much as I can.

Regards,

Michael G

Some questions about CTP Heidelberg Prosetter

Some questions about CTP Heidelberg Prosetter

Hi all,

My name is Julian Castrillon, I'm from Cali (Colombia). We (me and a friend) are starting with a little pre press bussines in our city. We are looking for some ctp Heidelberg, but don't have experience. Well, one dealer from U.S . is offer us a Heidelberg Prosetter 74 year 2002 with violet blue laser and 5mW. Also a Plate processor G&J Raptor pro 85.
Well, my questions are about these machines: what is the difference between a Prosseter of 30mW and one of 5mW? Even that, how are these machines working?, also I appreciate all information about instalation and others you can send to us.
Sorry for my english, I hope you understood.
Thanks,

Julian Castrillon

For now I will be reading and Lots of it.

As far as my personal introduction. I am earning my stripes at work however I am still required to work a second job in order to meet the cost of living requirements in Calgary. Hello everyone!

My name is Lisa and I work for Mother Earth Recycling, of Valley Forge, PA and "YES", we are vendors! But nice ones ...

We market specialty inks for the direct mail and package marking industry, where equipment utilizes HP Technology, but, also, we sell new compatible inkjet and toner cartridges.

I use to work for a direct mail house, but recently joined this company, when the direct mail business started to go down hill.
